of FCB Training Offerings
The Florida Certification Board (FCB) invites you to attend training
that will assist you with the certification process. CEUs earned
can be used for initial application in the areas of addiction or
counseling education. Clinical Supervision workshops can be used
for upgrade or renewal purposes.
BASIC
ORIENTATION
This training will provide an overview of the certification
process from the initial stages, through the oral examination.
The following will be discussed: application/portfolio process,
written test, upgrades, oral exam, and the renewal process.

CLINICAL
SUPERVISION
Individuals will be able to outline the significance of the
Clinical Supervisor; explain the supervisory functions in support
of their supervisees' preparation for certification; document
their supervision and evaluation plans, methods, and application
for competency training for supervisees.

CASE
PRESENTATION METHOD (CPM)
CPM Participants will receive valuable information concerning
the standards for assembling an appropriate written case. This
workshop will also help to alleviate some of the anxiety, and/or
confusion regarding the CPM. The following topics will be covered:
12 core functions & global criteria, preparation of the written
case, pool of questions, and what to expect during the exam. Some
testing events include a mock oral exam.

Price: $30 - includes: The 12 Core Functions of the Substance
Abuse Counselor, by Dr. John Herdman.
FLORIDA SPECIFIC WRITTEN REVIEW
This 2-day training is a basic review course covering the 12-core
functions. Beginning addiction professionals and those wanting a refresher
prior to taking the Florida Specific exam are encouraged to take
this training. The Florida Specific exam is required for all levels
of certification.
